Boxer pups are working dogs that were bred in the 19th century Germany. They are called boxer pups because of their mannerism of waving their front paws. These dog breeds are medium-sized and stocky in their built and form. They also have strong jaws with powerful bites. As working dogs, boxer pups are normally employed in military and police works, more particularly in search and rescue operations.

Physical Appearance

Male boxer pups can grow to as high as 25 inches while the female dogs comes to around 21 inches. They have an average weight of 65 pounds. They’ve got short-haired coats, which are normally smooth and shiny, that are attached tightly to their body. Their coat comes in several colors, depending upon their parents’. It can go from brown, white, red, brindle, fawn, or black.

Temperament

Boxer pups are happy, playful, and energetic dogs. They are very intelligent as well, that’s why they can be used for military operations. It’s easy to train these dogs as they are a naturally good breed with moderate temperament. They experience no difficulties in get along with family members, including children. It’s also possible to have a boxer pup and a cat at the same time. However, boxer pups tend to chase ducks, chickens, rodents, and other farm animals. As such, this breed is not recommended in the countryside. But then, proper training would teach them to leave smaller animals alone.

Grooming

Boxer pups are not your hairy type of a dog. That makes them easy to groom and take care of. They shed minimally throughout the year. They only need occasional brushing of hair using a brush with a firm bristle. Boxer pups can actually clean and groom themselves. So bathing the dog can be done thrice to four times a week only, so as not to strip their bodies and skin of its natural oils.
